The heart is the most vital organ responsible for pumping blood throughout the body, that’s why it is essential to take better care of it. A sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy food habits, and stress are the major factors that can negatively affect the functioning of the heart which results in a higher risk of cardiovascular issues, including hypertension, stroke, and heart disease.

One of the most effective ways to negate these health issues is through yoga. Yoga can increase circulation and blood flow throughout the body. Additionally, yoga can help decrease blood pressure, adjust cholesterol and blood glucose levels, and improve heart rate. Here are five of the best yoga poses for better heart health.

  1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana):

One of the easiest yoga poses is beneficial in increasing breathing rate, relieving tension, and improving blood circulation. Apart from this, the mountain pose can also help in strengthening the vertebral column and the heart.

Practicing this asana regularly not only increases stamina and energy but also normalizes blood pressure levels.

  1. Stand straight on the ground, ensuring that the heels are touching each other while the feet are slightly apart.
  2. Keep the soles stuck to the yoga mat at all times and keep your arms straight on the side.
  3. Look in the forward direction and hold this stance for five minutes.
  4. Take a break for one minute then repeat three to four times.
  1. Tree Pose (Vrikshasana):

The Tree Pose can improve the spinal column and boost balance and poise. It also improves blood circulation and prevents the risks of heart ailments.
