  4. Take a break for one minute then repeat three to four times.
  1. Tree Pose (Vrikshasana):

How to do it?

  1. Stand straight on the ground.
  2. Put both of your arms in front of your chest and join the palms like in a prayer position.
  3. While the palms are joined, stretch both arms upwards.
  4. Bend your right knee and put the sole of your right foot within the inner side of your left thigh.
  5. Keep your left leg straight and hold this position for as long as you can.
  6. Take a break for one minute then repeat five times.
  1. Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana):

Aside from burning calories and getting rid of belly fat, the cobra pose is also beneficial to help stretch the chest cavity and strengthen the heart muscles.

How to do it?

  1. Lie flat on the yoga mat, stomach facing the ground.
  2. Make sure that both your toes are pointed.
  3. Plant your palms on the mat, below and slightly outside your shoulders.
  4. Slowly lift your upper torso while stretching your back and core muscles.
  5. Use your palms to support your upper torso while it is lifted.
  6. Tilt head back until chin points forward and neck is compressed.
  7. Straighten out your arms while keeping your shoulder blades pressed against your back.
  8. Fix gaze at a point on the ceiling and hold this posture for about 15-30 seconds and exhale as you return to the starting position.
  1. Warrior Pose (Virabhadrasana):

The warrior pose is one of the most essential yoga stances every beginner should know. It improves balance and develops better stamina. It can also help relieve stress and improve blood circulation which reduces the risks of arrhythmic conditions.

How to do it?

  1. Stand straight while looking in a forward direction.
  2. Move your feet forward about 4 inches apart.
  3. Turn your left foot out by 90 degrees while the right foot in by 15 degrees.
  4. Lift both arms sideways until it is leveled with your shoulders.
  5. While exhaling, bend your left knee until it forms a 90-degree angle.
  6. Slowly turn your head and look to the left.
  7. Keep breathing while stretching your hands further apart.
  8. Gently push your pelvis down and hold this pose.
  9. Repeat with the other side, this time with the right foot forward.
  10. Repeat these steps four times while taking a one-minute break in between repetitions.
  1. Sitting Half Spinal Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana):

Twisting the upper torso of the body from the pelvis is helpful to open up the sides of the chest and improve the quality of the spine. It can also stimulate the heart muscles, soothe stiffness specifically at the back and normalize the pulse rate. Practicing the sitting half spinal twist regularly can prevent cholesterol build-up and reduce the risks of heart ailments.

How to do it?

  1. Sit straight while the legs are stretched out and feet together.
  2. Bend your right leg and plant your right heel besides your left hip.
  3. Bring your left leg over your right knee.
  4. Place your right hand on your left foot while putting your left hand behind you.
  5. Twist your waist, shoulders, and neck to the left while looking over the left side of your shoulder.
  6. Hold this position for 30 seconds to a minute while inhaling and exhaling.
  7. Return to the starting position, and repeat to the left side.
